The Wolf Moon – First Full Moon of The Year
Welcome to the first full moon of 2022!
The wolf moon! It has also been called the cold moon or spirit moon. One of the longer stretches of full illumination, lasting about three days. This is also an excellent opportunity to see Gemini’s constellation, positioned right by the full moon’s side.
The meaning behind the Wolf moon is quite simple.
Traditionally full moon names were or have been passed down from Native American’s and have been named based on the time of the season and the natural occurrences happening in nature and wildlife at that time of the magical full moon.
This is when wolves can be heard howling away into the night sky. This full moon – wolf moon, can also be referred to as the spirit moon because it is the first full moon of the new year, and some use it as a way to set intentions for their lives in the year ahead.
So, how are full moons created?
Well, in the moon’s 27-day cycle, the full moon marks the point in time where the earth is equally set between the sun and moon. So, since the sun sets perfectly in line with the moon at this time, it illuminates the moon and all of its glory.

How To Use The Wolf Moon
This first full moon of 2022 can mark the start of the new year. Even though we usually set our intentions during the new moon, take this time during the full moon to set intentions for this next year to come and take time to reflect on the year past. What are things that you need to let go of, work harder at, or what can you celebrate?
Full Moon in Cancer
This first full moon will be in the astrology sign of Cancer. Fitting enough, Cancer represents the moon, think fluidity, maternal instincts, ability to adapt to your situations. Unfortunately, if you’ve been trying to stuff those feelings down, it will all be brought to the surface. But that’s ok! Feel the feelings but don’t live there. Acknowledge what you have been feeling lately and vow to either strengthen those or release and move on with fresh energy. So, take time with yourself; reflect, learn, grow and start new!

Wishing you love, light and inner peace babes ✌🌈✨💜
